Rec Room
TPM | Nov 2024 - Aug 2025 | 25-Developer Org
I was the Technical Program Manager for the Server organization at Rec Room - a collaborative social creation game and platform on VR, Mobile, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. I work with 25 server developers across four permanent sub-teams (multiplayer, trust & safety engineering, core server and data infrastructure) and multiple intra-company embedments (including supporting discovery/engagement, user-generated content, and avatars/revenue). I am also an "on-demand" TPM for cross-disciplinary strike teams focusing on next-gen product dev.
Available on PC, Mobile, VR, and all Major Consoles!
Public efforts I worked on included...
Allocating server dev resources across the company's AI efforts, including Maker AI, Game AI chips for UGC, and Roomie.

Shipping multiple client version updates of Referee, the internally developed anti-cheat service for Rec Room
Supporting islanded Nintendo Switch™ versions of user generated content post-Fall 2024 release

My production duties included...
Co-owning significant cost savings efforts to reduce infrastructure spending by >$1.5 million and defining cost per days of play (CDP) thresholds for high and low user periods

Presenting biweekly updates to executive-level stakeholders and at weekly company all-hands meetings
Negotiating deliverable schedules across multiple teams within the company
Authoring, refining, and tracking quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) with the Server Leads Team

Creating and maintaining integrated Slack/G-Suite bots to intake and allocate server team requests, track PRs, and collect asynchronous updates
Conducting weekly and bi-weekly 1:1s with sub-team leads and embedded devs
Leading cross-team initiatives to optimize internal testing and improve weekly client ships through QA syncs
Clearing and identifying blockers that interfere with company-wide goals and work streams
Coordinating company-wide, in-game play sessions in different environments to stress test and feature test multiplayer features and other server-side changes
